901 Weight Box

Tom- I don't think they are extremely rare as I see
them with the weights for sale from time to time.
They are only for use with the NF models. They are
expensive and go for about $1000 for a complete set.
Notice this guy lists the weight box but doesn't say
anything about the weights. -Will

Thanks Will. Ok..... Say the box has all the weights and along with all the pie weights, what would be an appropriate off for this one? I don't think it's worth the $5950. Anyone else?

Hey Tom, as you know I'm a cheap skate.
I do see some good stuff here though.
Front weight box, with weights, around $1000 as said.
Pie weights $500-$600 depending on location.
Maybe more if they are supposed to be used on those PA rims.
Not sure if that was an option or not.
The PA rims are very hard to come by anymore.
Especially in good shape. I would check those closely.
I'm not a fan of the vertical exhaust on a "restored" tractor,
although often better for certain working conditions.
And that seat would have to go! LOL
I think you're right, he's too high, but there are a lot of good
sides to look at on that machine too!

Edit - I just looked at the pictures again and noticed it's running
at ~1350 RPMs and only shows ~35 PSI of oil pressure.
That wouldn't exactly instill confidence either if the gauges are right.

factory weight options have been going up steadily in my area,
2 recent listings of complete pie weight sets have been $950, and $1K...ouch
and also in my area, the NF 700-900 series have always been big $.
The one you show is a little over-priced even here,
but not by much.
Here is one to compare, yours is newer and has more options.....

I think he will get his asking price if, as it appears, the usual remote valve is included and are the front weights.

Dean

Well, going to take a look at it Saturday. I think he'll be disappointed with my offer. He tells me the front weight box is empty. It also had a cracked block at one time so it was changed, not repaired according to him. Who knows? I'm thinking around $4500 tops. What do you think?

As you know, asking price and selling price are always different. $4500.00 seems high for me but as Dean said, he will probably get his asking price if he's patient. You can feel him out tomorrow.

Money isn't everything - Buy it if it makes you happy and the money isn't a problem for you.
