I have a 1949 8N with an industrial engine,I say that because it has a fuel pump plate,no casting numbers and no data plate, but serial number stamped into block. The odd thing is the serial number, it has a W stamped over a M then a X and the number 58333 Any ideas? The X has me interested. I had a 9N one time with the serial number 9NX39,I was told that it was some sort of experimental, sold it to a man in Ohio.

Roy........Ford sold the flathead N-Engine for many industrial applications.....including oilfield pumps; grain harvesters; portable electrical generators; military jeeps; ALL would need external fuel pump to power them. As fer the "X", that and $5 will buy you a cuppa kauphy at Starbucks.......caffeinaholic Dell
