601 radiator shroud

My 601 doesn't have a radiator shroud. It has a fin on the front of the motor on each side. Is this normal or is the shroud missing?

(quoted from post at 15:33:12 07/20/13) your shroud is missing, get one for it it is an important part of the cooling system
Might explain why its running right on the edge of the safe temp. Range!
Still think I might put in a new thermostat and rebuild the water pump while I'm in there.

I was up at the tractor today. I looked, took pictures, etc. There does not appear to be anywhere to secure a shroud in there! No frame, no holes for bolts....no nothing that I can see! And clearances don't look like the will allow it either. The fan blades are pretty close to the front end frame.

If anyone wants to help out I can send picts.

Those shrouds are attached directly to the radiator. There should be 3 small holes on each side of the radiator that take smallish machine screws.

Didn't see any?
And it looks like only about a 1/2 of clearance between fan blade and the front frame.
If someone could post a picture of one, especially what the bottom looks like it would put me at ease!

Here's a look. My tin is off on the tractor...

That helps a lot!
Nope, no way my radiator has those three bolt holes down the side like that.
And is the shroud enclosed across the bottom?
I also have a three blade fan. I wonder if the radiator is not original?

Yes, it's enclosed along the bottom. The holes are small, no room for nuts behind the rail either. Those are just screws going in...
