As I was mowing today I noticed my oil pressure gauge bottoming out when I would go down a hill or around a turn, I shut the tractor down and checked the oil, the oil level was at the add oil line on the dipstick and about an hour later it was in the cross thatch area. Not sure how long this has been going on but I just noticed it today and I"m not sure as to where to begin to correct the issue.

Check to make sure it does not smell badly of gas. Also you might try loosening the drain plug slowly till you start getting drips. If it is real thin you may have a carb float/seat problem and gas getting into the oil and that can and is bad news for an engine

Put a quart of oil in it! My 861 was doing the same thing and I spent more time trying to figure out what could be wrong with it before I came to my senses. It was just a combination of a small gasket leak and burning a little oil. No issue at all. Put a quart in it and not problem since. Pressure gauge holding perfect.
Sometimes over thinking is the problem!

The I.T. manual reads a 5 Qt. capacity with an oil and filter change.I go with 6 Qts. I have some steep hills around me and with 5 Qts. I get low O/P on the down hills. I dropped the pan and looked for a problem(loose or cracked pickup). All looked good. All this was several years ago. 6 Qts. of oil solved the problem.

fill it with oil till it shows full on the stick.

add anpther quart. see if it still does it.

got the normal pan.. or?
