Finished up my lift pump today. Noise is 80% gone now, mostly normal gear/valvetrain noise. The more I run it, the less it is.(probably due to wearing in of parts)
Clean up of the pump was the real work. I was nasty in there when I opened it up, had to soak front pump cover to get all of the old gasket material off.
After I cleaned everything up, assembly was one of the easiest things I've done mechanically in a while.Biggest problem was getting small springs to fit over pins on the plate.
Coated all moving parts with assembly lube and mated front half of pump to drive half. (had a new wobble shaft bearings, gear, race and seals installed)
Installed pump on the tractor and bled it.
Lift goes up and down.. noise is 80% gone, Im happy.
A good day.
