The NAA has live-hydraulics which was an improvement over the 8N series where hydraulics only worked when the PTO was engaged.

The PTO is not a live-power type, when you push the clutch, power to the PTO is stopped as well as movement of the tractor if in a drive gear.

I believe that there was a truly live-power option but it is rather rare. I've never seen one, only heard of it.

The PTO is connected to the rear axle, so you will need a special adaptor to remove a spinning mower from the rear wheels. The rotational inertia of the mower will keep the tractor moving forward, HELP!!!

Yep, called an over-running coupler. Well worth the money to save your skin and the tractor.

I don't bush hog with my NAA anymore, have a Kubota for that.

The NAA runs my sprayer, pulls a disc, runs a rotary fertilizer spreader.

Working on a NAA with the very rare PTO clutch on it right now. I have never seen one before. It has hydraulic problems with the 3 PT. The tractor is for sale, seems to be in pretty good shape.
