Always started perfect. I am not experienced at diesel problems. Tank has plenty of fuel. I wonder if the fuel filter is bad or has water in it. How do you change that. Any other easy things to check. Thanks

Changing the fuel filter(s) and checking fuel flow out of tank are the 1st & easiest things to do. Remove old filter(s) & install new filter(s),open bleeder screw(parts key #14) on filter housing and gravity will fill filter with diesel, close bleeder and attempt to crank engine. If engine won't start open bleeder screw on the side of inj pump and with kill cable pulled out turn engine to see if fuel will squirt out the in pump bleeder, then push kill cable in and attempt starting engine. According to NH parts tractor could have 1 or 2 fuel filters.

Good instructions from Texas Jim. Saying that you don't know how to change the filter, coupled with the fact that the beauty of diesel is that the problem is almost always the fuel, makes it easy to say that that a plugged filter is most likely the problem. I will add two things. First, with the filter off, open the shut-off valve and insure that fuel flows STRONGLY. Second, before installing new filter, insure that you remove the old rubber gasket from part#1 the cover.

Hey thanks for the help. I got the filter changed and it still wont start. It does have white smoke coming from the exhaust when cranked, if that means anything. Can you help me to figure out where on the inj. pump is the bleeder screw. Thanks david

White smoke is a good thing. That makes it sound like you have successfully bled the filter. Most likely now you are short on RPMs you need to spin it over pretty quickly for it to generate the compression to fire. So, charge the battery good and if possible boost with cables or your booster pack. It should start then.

I got 2 of the injectors cracked open and bled but I ran the battery low and have to wait to let it charge up before I try in the morning. It was blowing bubbles at the injector when I had them cracked open. having a hard time get to the 3 rd one because its got a loader on it and the battery try doesn't want to swing very far with out hitting it. Not sure where to bleed the injector pump.

Don't worry about bleeding the pump or 3rd injector! Crank it over with the 2 injector lines loosened until you get fuel without bubbles at the injectors, then tighten the lines and it will start!
BTDT many times, Dave

IF it has just the straight 2X4 trans with no hyd reverser/ hyd 2 speed I'd run a chain under the bucket(if bucket is on ground) and tow itto start the engine. I once owned a 3000 with a non working fuel gauge that my employee ran out of fuel several times that I could bleed it until I was blue in the face & it wouldn't start BUT pull it 5(five) ft and it would start.
