I need help please.
Model number 5M1UC Possible a u or 0 did a lot of sanding to be able to read it
Manufacturing date code J16 no year for Manufacturing
Serial number B*049702* Built in Basildon
4 cylinder Diesel
8 Speed and has pto
Spent 2 days searching on internet with no result
ordered tie rod tubes for it and they didn't fit 19"long and I need 15.75" tubes,
has power steering and expandable front end

If it is a 5000 they used two different adjustable wide fronts. One sets out a little farther than the other. Tie rod ends have different part numbers for the different wide fronts. Look it up at CNH.com

5M1UC looks more like a production date code than a model number, especially if the U is really a 0, then 5M10C would be December 10 of some year that ends in a 6 (1965, 1975, 1985, etc.) during the afternoon shift.

B*049702* is a Basildon serial number for sure, and being so low I would guess that the production code 5M10C would be December 10 1965.

No ideal what J16 would be for. Check the same flat spot on the other side of the tractor, as sometimes they stamped some of the numbers on that side at the European assembly plants.

6H25B on the rear axle would be August 25, 1966, which is 8 months later than the number from the transmission, so either the 5M10C on the transmission is the assembly date code for the transmission itself, or else the transmission or rear axle was swapped out at some point since they couldn't have assembled the rear axle 8 months after the tractor left the assembly line if all of the components were original to that tractor.

As watsonsgotit said, they made 2 different tie rods, and the earlier one looks to be no longer available, so you will probably need to find one at a salvage yard or find something that's close and make it fit. If it's got the power steering cylinder under the nose of the tractor, then it's the earlier power steering setup and the parts will not be available new, only used.

I have a used set of tie rod tubes... I'll have to check to see if they're the length you need, though. Email is open, if you're interested.

Sorry I haven't gotten around to measuring those tubes sooner...been a few busy days here.
The ones I have are the 15 3/4" ones that you are looking for. The inner ends seem to be good, usable at least, but the outer ends are shot. I'll take them out to cut down on shipping weight a little.
