Did Ford build any factory LP( 600 series) tractors?? I have a hood that is for LP but do not know if OEM. Thanks Jim

New Holland parts site shows an LPG fuel system including tank, carb and sheet metal for the years 1957-1962, so it looks like it was available from the factory for the '01 series but not the hundred series.

i dunno. i've got a couple 00 trikes that have/had lp parts on them that i stripped off to convert them to gas. at least one of them i know it's the right engine by casting number. not saying the lp stuff couldn't hav ebeen put on it.. makes me think lp was an option for 00 as well.

Not sure about the 600s though.

can't say.. but you can see for sure that that is a 00 series with a lp setup.

if i recall the 3 digit model number chart in the manual says 134ci gas/lp menaing there was some other 00 series with lp and 134. had to be a 600 or 700.. agian.. can't say. most of my trikes ar ethe 172 units. only have a couple... 3..ok.. maybee 4 134ci jobs. :)

Well that brochure says "Powermaster", which means that it's the very end of e hundred series run and just before they started calling them "01's, so the LP production might have started at that point. The parts site says that the LP stuff all started 1/1/57, and by then they should have been '01's, but then again the parts site has been getting worse and worse with its information lately.

that add shows a 960 with the early powermaster gear decal, and it shows lp.

that tells us that at least by the end of the 00 run.. lp was available. i imagine if you walked into a ford dealer and put a bucket of cash on the desk at the end of the 00 run and said i wanted a lpg 660..e tc. they mighta built ya one. :)

but i don't know that for sure.

someone like tony jacobs might have more insight to that. so far we know the rowcrops at least could have it.

The LPG option became available during 1957 while the X00 series tractors were still in production. I have a copy of the manual in the link and the LPG system is covered in it. There were a few more changes included in the manual but I'm not at home to access my manual and see what they were.
1957 Running Production Changes

Chris,
Yes, you could get the LPG option on any Ford Tractor. In addition to the 1957 Running Production Changes SHOP MANUAL Supplement I have a LP-Gas Models OWNER'S MANUAL Supplement. In that supplement Ignition Timing is shown as 8 BTDC for the 800 and 900 series and 11 BTDC for the 600 and 700 series equipped with the LPG system.
