yes, another SOS question

I just got my 1959 971 all put back together from doing an overhaul and had it on my dyno to break it in this weekend and once it is all warmed up good I have trouble with the PTO handle wanting to creep back in til the PTO clutches start to slip. I have it adjusted like the manual says by using the lube light to get it centered. Never had a problem like this with my 63 4000 but I have never cleaned up the conduit and cable on it like I did with this tractor. Has anyone ever ran across this problem and how I might fix it? I don't want to clamp a visegrip to it to hold it in place. Thanks in advance Greg NE

Most likely the detent ball and spring has come out of the PTO cable assembly.

Not uncommon.

Thanks for the replies guys. I believe the detent spring and ball are still where their supposed to be but they have worn a groove between the detents so not holding anymore. Guess I'll have to keep an eye out for another cable assembly and hopefully find a good one. I know good luck! Thanks Greg NE
