tractor starts up, runs ok for a bit, the longer it runs the less power it has, seems to be only running on 2 cyls at times, crank case fills with fuel.

do I replace the cav pump? or pump and injectors?

anything else I should look for?

Thanks Al

If it is a JD running on two cylinders it should make adequate power. If it is a six cylinder two would probably be a little weak. What make and model is Al's tractor?

Start it up... then open each injector one at a time. When you find the one that doesn't make it stagger... remove it. Most likely has a bad tip. Really... it would probably be best to have all three injectors serviced.

A little more information always helps! It sounds like it is not getting enough fuel.
Checking to make sure you have good fuel flow to the fuel pump is the first thing to find out!
Has the fuel tank, shutoff valve and screen been cleaned lately? Fuel filter(s) been serviced?

seems to fill crankcase even while sitting if i dont turn off fuel, when running i think the pump pressure is leaking down thru front pump seal and not feeding all the injectors, is this possible?

If it has cold start, remove the air cleaner hose and look in the manifold. Should be dry. That manifold heater can leak and fill a crankcase.

Yes, that is possible. Very possible... However, do a drop test on the injectors first to eliminate that before you move to the umbrella seal on the pump shaft.
