4000 tractor pulling

Have any one on here every pull a three cylinder 4000 in farm stock
class? Just wonder how well would it do. I no that I could take it to
a pull and find out.A pull is coming up, but this one start at 5500
class, what do you think?

I guess that is why I have never seen one pull. The only Fords I see pull or 100 + hp. I have never seen a 5000 pull.

There are a lot of Fords pulling, especially 960s and 901s. back in the '50s and 60s Fords were being built with 30-40% higher power to weight ratio than most others. I haven't seen any 4000s pulling but I have seen 5000s, 6000s, 7000s, 8000s, 9000s etc. At one of our local pulls a few years ago a local dairy farmer unhooked his 7000 from the mixer wagon and brought it out and won his class.

(quoted from post at 06:33:30 06/06/13) Well I can not buy a larger ford than the 4000 just to pull, I am
saving by money to buy a 3600 with cab and air.

forget about cab and air! get a 4 cyl. and have some fun!

I put a set of Mack 237 nozzles on my 3000 with a JD turbo I had a custom turbine wheel and housing made. Havn"t been to the dealer for a PTO test yet, but I can tell is deffently makes more power and EGT"s aren"t that high.
