does anyone know where the serial number is located on a 2610 tractor?

If it's still there, there should be a foil tag on the underside of the hood, above the battery. The other spot is the flat area just above and to the rear of the starter.

The serial number was originally in two locations on that tractor. The first, and easiest to find if it's still there, is on a foil sticker on the underside of the right hood panel, the one that you open up to get to the battery. If the sticker is no longer there, the model number, serial number and production code should also be stamped into the transmission bell housing, on a flat spot that faces up, just above the 2 large bolt holes that are just aft of the starter.
