Welcome to the forum.
I'm no hydraulic expert, but my pump has a pipe plug on the top
right at the end nearest the front of the tractor.
To prime it, I took that plug out and filled it with the correct fluid.
Maybe that will work for you too if you haven't already tried it.

no it is run off of the on board hydraulics what type of fluid does it take I put in M2C41 got it at farm&fleet will the fluid make a difference.

thanks all of the people who gave me information on my problem with my ford 800 hydraulic pump. I fixed the problem. I bought some parts from reliable aftermarket parts and the valve plate was the wrong size of roll pins on the plate which held the valves open. I would like to know what is the wright hydraulic oil for a 57 ford 800? thanks again

Sure, TSC and WalMart both carry UTF that meets that spec.
So do most good parts stores, NAPA etc.
If you have a tractor dealer nearby, they would too. Probably more
expensive there but might be worth checking if they're closer.
