Looking at a 3pt.disc. It is a 6 foot- four section disc.It has two sections of serated and two sections of normal discs. It is well built and seems pretty heavy duty. Don't know the model,..no tag anywhere on the equipment. Owner is asking $500.00. Seems a little high in price. However all the parts to the disc are in good shape and all the zerts are there for greasing.Thought about offering $375.00,..what do you think? Opinions appreciated.

I went to ebay and they wanted $999 for a used dearborn 6 ft disk. I think I only paid $250 for mine and it looks better.

They had new disks for around $800.

Good 3-point disks usually bring in the neighborhood of $100 per foot at auction here. $500 doesn't sound bad, but it wouldn't hurt to offer less and maybe meet somewhere in between.

Sounds about right if in decent shape. Could even be a bargain if in good shape.

If discs are clean and sharp, spin when you toe them, ....
Fixed rails offer the $375
Adjustable pay the $500 down here.

Both prices are common down here. Issue is always was it maintained.

I always figured it as what do the discs and some of the bearings cost me locally. Figure what crappy ready for the scrap metal pile bottom line is, then add in new discs. If its between that price and same with replacing bearing housings too, then its a winner.

My time not added to the above costs makes or breaks the deal usually. Farmerized workmanship isn't my style. I can buy a new piece for cheaper than fixing other peoples mistakes most of the time.

My view when I look at things at the big auctions here.

fair price here too
You'll probably get a flat no at 375,
but he will come down a little.
Search pics on the web,
if it's a Ford or Dearborn disk,
it would sell for considerably more here.

Well guys I appreciate the information. You all were pretty much right. I called the guy less than two hours after he had put it by the side of the road and it was already sold. It is the old attage,..if you snooze you loose. It was in very good shape and as I said heavy duty for a six foot disc. You didn"t need to add any weight to tear up the soil. The disc had 3 inch round stock steel for a frame,..no cracks or welds. Oh well,..maybe next time. Thanks for all your info.

I paid $375 +10% at a Lapeer auction 6 weeks ago. 6' four section all serrated blades. It does a nice job on the pasture.
