Buyers Premium

This coming June 1 is a Ford tractor sale in South Saint Louis county with 9 Ford tractors. Beware of the 10 % buyers premium that was not advertised!

gotta love BP.

our local auction has it and lists it.. in flyspec writing at the front gate where you drive in. :)

Also if you use debit or credit card it's another 4%.I might drive down Friday and look around.I like the 3 bottom.

When you register they usually give you a flyer that states that although in this economy they will sometime wave the BP and state this at the begining of the auction. Just keep that 10% in mind when bidding.

I go to a lot of auctions in Eastern MO and a buyers premium is virtually unheard of in these parts. And to not advertise it along with the flyer is unethical. I understand about figuring the 10% in your bid but a whole lot of people attending won't know about it until sale day if at all. I won't be going for these reasons.

Tom: I've been posting, mostly on the Fergy Board, since last fall, when I bought a TO-20, but I also visit here, and the N board. (Dad has an 860, and Grandad had an 8N.)

I didn't realize I had picked a name that was so similar to someone else on the board ("MO" compared to "Mo."), but since you've been around a lot longer than me, so I'd be glad to change my name, if that's possible.

And, we don't see many auctions with buyer's premiums in the rural areas on the west side of the state, either - I've always thought it was more of a big-city, art auction kinda thing.

Thanks Western Tom, that may save some confusion.

You're most welcome, Eastern Tom - I know that I was certainly confused, when I saw that I had posted a new topic on the Ford board, and had no recollection of doing so!

Now, to come up with a new name...

Thanks, Oz, but I think I'm just going to go with my real name - I've e-mailed the YT folks about how to get it changed.
