641 Workmaster Radiator Replacement

I dropped my radiator off at a shop to get it re-cored. It was in a pretty poor state of disrepair. When I drained the coolant I only got about a gallon to gallon and a half out. It had been filled full two months prior, so I know there is a leak, and it appears to have been repaired several times before.

The shop indicated that it was in so poor shape that a replacement would be better. I was hesitant, so I asked them to price both options, new and re-core. Recore will be around $600, and replacement will be around $350. The replacement is built in india. Not thrilled about that.

So, should I bite the bullet and have my bad radiator re-cored, get the india replacement, or get the one from this site?

What is the quality of the one from this site?

Didn't get it from this site, but I went for the $300 variety to use in my 640.
Yes it was made in China, but it fit, and it weighed exactly what the original did.
Temp never rises over 160 even in the SW Texas heat.

Used a foreign repop from this site on my '55 850. Repair shop wouldn't consider a recore of the old one due to the tank condition. 5 years now with no problems, but, you have to change/maintain the fluids as recommended.

I have 1 in an 8N and one in my 841 both made in India and both have been in for a decade or more and have yet to have any problems out of either one. This site is good about selling stuff that works well and they back there stuff up if you do have a problem

Is the one sold on this site the one made in India?

In some of the old posts, it was indicated that the Ireland made ones were the best foreign made radiators.

Both prices are too high.I know the price has increased but a 640 radiator was just over 200 bucks. There are big markups in radiators. My old Chevy pickup got a leak in the heater core.Radiator shop said it couldnt be fixed.New core was 75 bucks.Bought a used one for 10 bucks. It started leaking after 4 years.I got in touch with a radiator supply co.I got a new core for 27 bucks. That included ups.I started selling radiators.Didnt install just sold them.My price was low so I did well. You better shop around a lot before you buy.
