running hyd orbit motor on a 5000

I am wanting to run a hydraulic motor off the remote of my 65 5000. Do I adjust the remote to run a single hose cylinder? With the remote lever back or lift can the return line accept the amount of oil being returned by the hyd motor without causing hear build up? Thanks

Not quite sure I understand all of your questions, but I'll try to answer them.

If it has a return line then you should be able to leave the remote setup for a double acting cylinder and run the return line from the hydraulic motor back to the second port on the remote, and only move the lever in one direction to run the motor. If the motor is designed to be run in both directions, then moving the remote handle in the other direction would cause the motor to run backwards. If the motor is only designed to be run in one direction and you are afraid of damaging it by running it the wrong way, then you could set up the remote for a single acting cylinder and rig up the return line directly back to the sump. The easiest place to run the return line would be into the fill hole on the top of the rear axle center housing.

Yes, since you should be able to loop the two ports on the remote directly to each other and it should be able to handle the flow without overheating, it should be able to handle the return flow from the motor as well.

It doesn't really matter... you can set it up to run as single acting if you only need it to run one direction. If you need it to reverse then you'll need the remote set as double acting. IN reality... on a 5000... for the amount of oil it will make for you.... you'll get damn tired of it after about 5 minutes. Unless it's a very small motor...

It depends on the motor. Some motors will have a third line case drain..... like 3000 + rpm air seeder fan . Should be ok with slow speed motor.
