A few members have tried the tubes from Walts. They are uniform diameter tubes, not the stepped tubes that are needed. In other words, they need to be machined before you drive them in.
I know John Smith has successfully made tubes, you might try contacting him (

Keep us posted, a number of us are struggling with this issue.

I got mine (5speed) from John he once said he make make some to sale, walts will not work you have to press them to tell you they need machined
I know you can remove them with out a split and right sure you can install them with out a split. That being said it makes me wonder why anyone would sleeve them while they were in the trans. Their you go i told you its not hard to remove them I see no reason to struggle anymore.

Kurt- Last year I thought about having a few made. I saw a diagram that somebody posted on here with the correct specs. I found the blanks to make the tubes in McMasters. Went to the local VoTech school and talked to the instructor. Show him the diagram and he said he could turn out a few at no cost.

I did not have him do it because of other things going on. But, I know where to go if I do end up needing some.
