740 Power Steering Replacement Cylinders

Well what was supposed to be a simple rebuild of the power steering cylinder on my 740 has turned out to be anything but...The hydro shop cut it apart to rebuild and handed me back a box of parts. The $200 replacement cylinders on Ebay don't look anything like the row crop cylinder, but say they are for a 700/900. Are they a replacement or are the adds wrong.

I answered you last time. I didn't see any $200.00 ones on ebay. The row crop version is completely different from the utility. They do come up regularly but you have to be careful of the condition of the chrome. I had one repaired about five years ago. The shop cut it open and swapped in a new rod for around $300.00

I have a used one but since the P/S system has been disconnected for some time, condition is a total crap-shoot. Maybe I'll know more after I get it off the tractor.

But, that doesn"t answer my question. The shop here could repair the rod. They are saying the inside of the cylinder is to torn up. So, now I have nothing to put onto the tractor and I can"t steer it. I need alternatives because a $500 used OEM cylinder + rebuid cost isn"t going to happen. Hopefully the ebay link worked. I know what they show in the picture is wrong. I"m wondering if the seller doesn"t know what they are talking about or if it will work.

That is a cylinder for a utility tractor not a row crop check the part #

Utility cylinder.

The seller obviously does not know what he is talking about as utility models and row crop models use completely different cylinders.
