ford 2600 Lift arms

Hi My lift arms work fine except they wont raise very high. I have a loader on that works fine so I don't think the problem is in the pump. Wher should I start?

for kicks.. manipulate the draft control and see if there is any change int he position control height.

in any case.. I think you will find her ready for a new cam follower pin, perhaps some building up ont he cam.. and then a linkage adjustment using the shop manual. if it refers to using a nuday tool, look for the alternate instructions . all the nuday tool is is , esentially, a measuring device/ etc.

Many Thanks,
I'll try the draft control, but it's actually the orchard variety and has only one lever. The draft control is a small lever on the right side below the seat. I'll let you know what results I get.

no change to the directions. manipulate the draft control to see what it does to the position control.

Hi,
No lift at all in draft mode. And When checking the oil level the FO-41 manual says arms up and all cylinders extended, but the owners manual says arms up and all cylinders retracted. Do you know which is correct?
Again Thanks

If your loader has double acting cylinders for the lift arms and the bucket, then the small difference between fully extended and fully retracted shouldn't make much of a difference, but I believe that the proper procedure is with the arms up and all cylinders extended, that way you're checking the fluid level in the reservoir when it will be at its lowest, and you want enough in there to keep the differential and rear axle bearings lubricated when the fluid is at its lowest possible level.

it won't make a difference that you could see on the stick. the lift cyl volume is minutia compaired to sump volume...

if you have some large external hyds using SA cyls.. then it would make a difference..
