Best freeze plug sealant?

I just installed new freeze plugs at back of engine using best fit socket, added antifreeze mix and presto, they leak. I was reading that the plug manufacturers say don't use any sealant. I did clean the holes thoroughly. For those who do advise using sealant, what brand do you recommend?

Ditto the #2 permatex also.

Cummins specifies loctite on some of their larger diamter plugs. We found out the hard way that they blow out if you don't.

Thanks everyone, will get some Permatex #2 today. Glad I checked for leaks before I bolted the two halves together.

ditto onthe permatex #2.. I'm not a big goop fan.. but on core plugs.. I will put a smear on the plug OD and the core ID

i think there was a post about this yesterday maybee?
