Howdy Gang,
Yesterday I helped my son replace points and plugs on our 57 641. After setting point gap we tried starting the tractor and tractor was running on only 3 cylinders. During our troubleshooting we finally found the cam block for the points giving the problem. While 3 lobes opened the points to correct gap one lobe opened the gap entirely too wide. We finally got the tractor running but only by slight adjustments to the points and no feeler gauge. My question is this; can the cam block be purchased as a separate item or should we start looking for a new distributor assy? Any help is appreciated!
