Hi guys, I got a 861 diesel when I put it away for winter the 3 point arms worked good now I got it out and my arms won't lift and if I move the lever on my remote I can't feel no oil in line moving its like the hydraulic pump don't work any help is appreciated
Thanks,Jon

lets see.. used to work.

ow 3pt don't work.. and remote does not lift an attachment? or did you use the ole xray vision on the hoses to determine no oil?

check oil in hyds sump

if it is good.

check pump prime at pump by pulling top/front plug out.

if it has oil there.

put the xrag goggles down and REALLY test the remotes for oil flow.

if the remotes have flow and pressure on an implement or a guage.. but no 3pt.. then i'd say it's the unlaoder vlave is stuck.

Hi soundguy I took plug off no oil came out so I bled it now oil comes the arms work and everything is good except now when lift arms raise they chatter a little and it didnt do that before.

I think I would try to bleed it again. Chatter is a classic sign of air in pump. If that work - great.

If that fails, try the clear plastic hose test. Remove the pipe plug on the pump. Inset a street elbow, then a nipple, then a ball valve, then a hose barb to transition to a clear plastic hose. Run the hose back to the hydraulic sump fill hole under seat. Open the valve and start the tractor. Do you see bubbles in the hose? If yes run the tractor until they stop, then close the valve. Check the lift. If all is well - great. If the bubbles never stop, then you probably need a pump rebuild.

Post back we can help.

$15 in fittings and answers to a lot of questions.

Also, if you see bubbles, and they diminish with time. You may be able to get by for quite a while by starting the tractor, Open the ball valve until the bubbles quiet down, close the valve and then work the tractor. Usually works until the tractor sits over night, then you'll need to do it all over again. Not a solution, but gets the job done.

Well I just went and started tractor to see if anything changed before I hook my fittings and hose up and now it works beautiful just like it did before so I guess it must of been air in pump. I got one more question and if this where to happen again that it would lose its prime what would be the problem the pump that needs a rebuild or something else? Thanks for all the help, Jon

Glad you got it working.

If you get air in there again, it is a suction side leak. Either one of the O-rings on the manifold, or at the pump shaft seal. That seal is most likely.
Chances are if the seal is leaking, it has worn a groove in the wobble shaft.

If you have a shop press and a torch (or welder), Rebuilding a piston pump is an afternoon job. Not too expensive either. Post if you decide to go that route.

Ok thank you for the info if it happens again I will post back on what route I go. Thanks again very appreciated
