help! I have a 801 Ford Power Master with water in the hydraulic case. it will not lift a load. what should I do to correct the problem?

Well first off when was the last time you change the hyd fluid??? I'll bet you the water got there by condensation and it is because the fluid has not been changed in years. So simply drain the old fluid let it sit over night so as to get most of it and the water out then refill. You might also add a bit of HEET to it before you drain it and run it for a short time to mix the HEET in so it absorbs the water

The water should drain out before the oil. Before draining the oil run it to get as much foreign material in suspension as possible. There is usually a lot of sludge on the bottom.

i'd dump in a lil diesel, and atf and alcohol.. circulate it and then drain.. then refill with oil and see if you got lift.

thanks! I drained the system and refilled it with 10w universal fluid. It worked but would not lift a load. after veiwing the "repair hydraulic system" dvd, I remove the cover and hydrulic cylinder. the piston fell out, the rubber O-ring is very stretched and there is no leather seal on the piston.
