Ford 881 Tractor Demonstrator Special

I have sold a Ford 881 Tractor to a gentleman in Ohio. I am from Kansas. He is buying it because he believes it is a Demonstrator Special. I am not sure. The serial number is 63328. Can anyone tell me if this tractor is a Demonstrator Special? I would hate to haul it all the way to him, only to find out it isn't.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Jim,

The "Gold Demonstrators" were an early SOS painted gold in color. I don't remember the exact S/N range of the gold demos, but that should be close.

If the tractor is not gold colored now, is there gold paint under its current coat anywhere?

I'm not too far from you. Is this unit down there east of the Little Apple?

The hood and fenders have original gold paint that is thin. There are areas underneath that have some red and there are replacement parts that are blue. It has power steering and is gas.

Yes - we're at KanEquip in Wamego!

I just looked at an archived post. That, coupled with what you just stated leads me to believe your gentleman is correct. The S/N range in which the Gold Demo's fell was roughly from 60000 through 69000.
