This is the basket case project tractor - reservoir on the pump, but cylinder under the radiator...
The hole on the end of the cylinder is worn egg-shaped, so I'm going to take it out and have it bushed back to fit the pin. Got the linkage off OK, and the nut off the bottom of the pin/bolt, but the pin doesn't want to move. Is it tapered? Any tricks to getting it to come out? Shoulda just bought the integral p/s steering column from Kenny...

Yes, the pin is tapered. I have found the easiest way to get it out is to remove the steering cylinder and linkage as an assembly, and then beat the pin out with a BFH.

Thanks. Grey, rainy day here, so maybe I'll get some time in on the tractor today.
I went to school with some guys who's motto was "If you can't fix it, get a bigger hammer!", so I knew what a BFH was...although the other "meanings" are pretty good!
