Should I change PTO clutch too?

Just got my 73 3000 diesel split and found the transmission clutch disc in pieces. I have live PTO with dual clutch. The PTO clutch appears to be fine, however I don't see any service wear limit info in the IT manual. My question is do you guys always replace the PTO clutch when you have it apart? Each side of the disc has about 3/16 of pad remaining. I don't know if that is much or not. Also would like to know where I should by a new clutch disc and tool to set finger gap. Thanks everyone

3/16 is pretty close to new, but if it is an double clutch assembly like in the 100 tractors it is a job to replace just a disc and get it assembled properly. In the shop manuals that I have it tells how to rebuild a clutch but it references a special jig. I have rebuilt various Ford assemblies that called for special tools without those tools and didn't have any problems

Tough call.
My limited experience has shown that the pto clutch will usually fail before the drive clutch will.
The couple I've done the pto clutch didn't show that much sign of wear but would not run my brush mower.

Hoping for a few more replies, so far it looks like
a no and a maybe. The PTO clutch functions great and
is very strong. I have limited funds so I try to
change parts only when prudent. I average around 50
hours of use per year, mostly mowing and basic ranch
upkeep, no plowing. At the moment my thoughts are
to change the trans clutch and throwout bearing. Are
the clutches on this web site ok? Do I need an
alignment tool or is the input shaft a decent
substitute?
