Quoting Removed, click Modern View to seeIf it will go all the way up in DRAFT CONTROL mode , but not all the way up in POSITION CONTROL mode, that is generally wear of position control pin/cam. Pin can be pressed out/driven out & replaced & if cam worn significantly, it can be built up with weld.

when you repalce that cam pin and look at the cam.. many time it wears in profile, so you have a witnes mark with which to build it up to and file down. some also use a longer pin to ride the entire surface.. or some.. just us ethe longer pin to rid ethe rest of the good surface and don't build it up.

I'm a fan of replacing the pin, building up the cam.. and using the longer pin so it rides the entire surface..e tc.

good luck

Soundguy, thank you. I would have replaced pin, ut thought it looked ok. I should have pulled it. Let me ask you, would not system compress under load. That is what I was taught about water & air in the USAF.

Correction: trying to ask "if the presence of air or water would contribute to failure of lift to raise as high, because they will compress more than oil." Right?

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to seeAir will resolve itselfover s short period of use & water, while bad for corrosion, is as incompressible as oil. Did you ever say whether it will lift all the way in DRAFT mode?

water, as a fluid, is just as uncompressable as oil. air compresses.. but that piston seal is not air tight, and thus will self bleed.

EVEN IF there was air in there.. the air would compress and or escape AND the system would still ultimately reach full height
