I have a 3400 with a 6 speed that I need to locate the fill plugs and check points on the trans and rear/hydraulic resovoir. My mechanic passed away andneed to train in a CAR mechanic.

This information should be in your owner's manual. If you don't have one you should get one. Better yet, buy an I&T manual, they're only about $30.00, and your new mechanic will thank you for it, plus he'll have no excuse for doing something wrong.

Transmission fill hole is large hex head on the top plate of the transmission, just forward of where the the hi/low shifter goes into the top plate. The level check hole for the transmission is a small square headed pipe plug on the right side of the transmission just forward of the brake pedals.

Rear axle/hydraulics fill hole is large hex head on top of the differential housing, directly under your right butt cheek when you're sitting on the tractor. Level check hole for rear axle/hydraulics is a small square headed pipe plug on the right side, near where your right heel is when you're sitting on the tractor.

trans is one sump.. diffy and hyds another sump.

trans drain anf fill are obvious.. top and bottom.. same with diffy.

level check.. on a 3600.. someone else can answer. I have a 3000 and a 4600 but no 3600.. but not sure they are the same places..

souNdguy - title of thread and original post both say 3400, not 3600. 3400 is the same as a 3000 as far as the transmission and rear end are concerned.

my eyes must be getting crossed from reading thes elil screens.

the 6 from 6speed was registering as 3600 to me.. :)
