Hello Folks.

It's Lance, and I'm back with another question!

I have bought a 641, and was wondering what the exact speeds are in each gear. It is a four-speed, not a 12.

Concerning my 641, I am planning on brush-hogging with it, and I was wondering if it will do okay with one. Do I need an overrunning clutch, or do these not have these problems?

Please reply.

Thanks for helping me learn the secrets of vintage tractors!!!

641 will tote a 5' or 6' hog. 5' thru anything.. 6' thru just about anything.. though you can always take a smaller bite or use low gear.

I run a 5' in 7' weeds in 1st gear and max throttle on an 8n.. and my 00+ use a 5 or 6 with neary a problem.

yeah.. DO use an ORC

someone will be along to quote the manual with speeds.. you got oe 12.4-28 tires?

YES you need and ORC or you can/will get hurt or hurt something. Depending on where you are a 5 footer is best fitted for that machine unless your just going to mow a lawn with it.

According to external_link the speeds for a 640 (they don't give them for a 641) are: 1st 3.6, 2nd 4.8. 3rd 6.6, 4th 13.7, Rev 4.3. I think that's at 2000 rpm.
