It's the original casting number. I'm going to take it out tomorrow and run it thru the gears and see if I can't get you more exact info. 10th gear worked well last time I had it going, and I was told by the PO that it didn't work---which is why I was thinking it worked when I warmed it up...Are red bands painted diagonally across some of the gear indicators on the shifter or was that done by the PO to x-out those gears? Thanks |

The red hash marks indicate that the tractor was built with the early SOS. The speeds with hash marks have no engine braking. Free wheeling. Filters should be available soon. Tony Jacobs is working with Dennis Carpenter to get them made. |

| Is Dennis going to have them made in the US or have them made in China like he's been doing alot of his other parts? New filters would be nice to get though, to bad us SOS users can't get them from that warehouse that there all stocked up in when the dealers send back there "older" Ford parts to New Holland. We lent Dennis some NOS grass screens that he now sells for the grills of the 700/900 Fords & hate that we did now. Carpenters has not been such a good place anymore like it used to be, I can go 2 more exits down & get restoration parts for Fords from another place with the Dennis Carpenter name on the box cheaper than from his place! Even his museum is only opened 2 days out of the week now, maybe Tony will get better appreciation from the Carpenters than others do? |

| Zack,
I have an old filter at home I have been wanting to get into and see if they can be "renewed" reasonably. I will see if I can get to that this week and post some pics of what I find.
Chris
