601 flywheel

May have flubed up a bit. Working thru a rehab of a 601, replacing the engine bearings and crank seals. decided to unbolt and drop the flywheel to pull the crankshaft to be very certain the rear seal goes axactly where it needs to. Flywheel on the floor, crank turned several times to align the timing marks and I snap to the fact that surely the flywheel orientation is specific for the timing marks to work, cannot not see a pin, key, or other part that indexes the flywheel. Have looked thru the book and can't find specific instruction. Searched here and nothing specific. Could someone point me in the right direction or help me clear the brain fart I seem to be having over this. Thanks in advance, Jim.

I guess you haven't tried to bolt it on.........can't go on except in one position.
