3-cylinder hydraulic pump identify

I want to buy a used pump for a 3-cylinder Ford 3000. The one that bolts on top of the clutch housing. My parts book show 4 different pumps. #C5NN600AA (3000 early), #C7NN600Y (3000 late), C5NN600AB (2000 early), #C7NN600Z (2000 late). Is there any way I can identify a pump like this without taking it apart? Looks like 3000 used bigger pistons. Not sure what early and late difference is.

Early and late has to do with how the suction and pressure lines connect. Early has a flange that bolts to the pump. Late has a suction that has a o ring that presses in and the high pressure has a flare nut connection.

Never heard about the difference between 2000 and 3000, thought they were identical. In any event, bet either one will bolt right in. Tractor data shows 1 gpm more flow on the 3000 model. If you installed a 2000 one I seriously doubt you will notice the difference unless you are running a loader or other high volume hydraulics on the pump. The 3000 and 2000 were pretty much identical in most aspects.

Maybe Ultradog will amble in shortly and help you with that question.

I think you pegged it pretty good yourself John on the different pumps.
There were 3 different types of connections on those pumps - early with the flange and two different types of pressure connection after that.
I think TractorData might be off on this one as I really doubt there is any difference between the 2/3000 pumps.
Dzus, what is wrong with your old pump?
They are pretty easy to rebuild and parts are not expensive - maybe $75?
I have a couple of used pumps here if you need one - including a new old stock one.
Need to know what style you have tho.
PS
Those pumps actually bolt to the rear of the engine - not the bell housing. They are driven off the rear end of the cam.

My parts book shows 3 of those part numbers as well but doesn't list a separate part number for a later 2000 pump, it claims that there is just one later pump for the 2000, 3000 & 4000.
