I really liked the 10 speeds as it was so versatile. What I didn't like about mine was it creeping when the fluid was thick in the winter when you were trying to hook up an implement. Had to shut the engine off meaning you had no control on the lift arms. I also liked the independent PTO that came with it. Too bad Ford rushed the design to the market (as happens frequently in production) before they got the bugs out of it. Course you had the same problem with it. Engine had to be off in the winter to hook up the PTO....it crept. Rumor has it that the guy that did that design for Ford was later hired by JD to do their Power Shift. Dad had that baler and a 5 speed 4000 (which I still have). Within 10 years the baler was worn out. We got a NH 310 which I believe is still going strong (sold it in 2004). Keith [Reply]  [No Email]
