billy boy2 02-10-2013 15:10:32 72.251.8.135 Report to Moderator	I've been hauling Ns on a 16 ft. lowboy behind a Ram 1500. I hauled a 9n , 6' brushog and a Dearborn cultivator 3hrs home without a hitch, (no pun intended) The Powermaster is for sure heavier, but I was wondering about pulling it and a JD 6 ft hog with the half ton. It's 100 miles or so, fairly straight and no hills to speak of. Power won't be a problem but I'm wondering how it will handle. [Reply]   [No Email]

This guy bugged me for a month to trade his tractor for a pile of motorcycle stuff I had. When I got it all together and got the trailer out to start loading, he called and backed out. His wife cluck peck peck cluck, doesn't want him to have a bike. I didn't know I was trading with her. I usually assume everyone in front is going to slam on the brakes, every car that comes up from a side road is going to pull out in front of me, and whoever is behind me is going to rearend me. You can do it but if you do drive slower and leave extra space between you and the guy in front of you. Your truck will not have trouble pulling it but it sure will not stop on a dime let along a thousand of them. Had the brake controller go bad on me when I was hauling my Oliver Super 88 and it is a lot heavier then any 801 is and I did just fine I just made sure I had extra stopping space [Reply]  [No Email]

Trip was about 100 miles. No problem towing it. Just go slow in the right lane. The last two miles were all uphill and my temp gauge reminded me of it. In the end all was well. [Reply]  [No Email]

I'm pretty much sticking to Ns. I just got a good trade on this one and need to get it home. When it leaves here it will be on someone else's trailer. Assuming the brush mowers are about the same weight I doubt the 1K lbs would make that much difference in your load. 801 is a bit longer too so your placement on the trailer will be slightly different but you can adjust that as needed. Biggest thing will be adequate brakes on the trailer. I doubt pulling power or GVW on the pickup be exceeded by the larger tractor. [Reply]  [No Email]

YES. are there better ways.. YES :) be carefull. stopping is more important than going... ballance it good and make sure you have brakes. tie the load.. and go. [Reply]  [No Email]
