Cat II 4000 arms won't fit in Cat I quick hitch. Now what?

I have a later Ford 4000 with a Cat II hitch. I bought a Cat I Quick Hitch from Tractor Supply. The balls in the lift arms won't fit in the Quick Hitch due to being too wide. I see that Tractor Supply sells "narrow" lift arm balls for Ford's. Is this the answer and can the balls in the lift arms of the 3-point be changed?
Thanks for any help.

Any 4000 with Cat II balls should be easily swapped out for Cat I balls. So yes, you should be able to remove them easily. Never saw TSC "narrow balls" so I can't comment. But I'd think a grinder could make your present balls fit that quick hitch in a couple minutes.

Thanks. Grinding the balls is definitely a better and easier idea than having the Quick Hitch mounting points widened, not to mention, cheaper.
