Ford 7600 engine kits

We are going to rebuild our 1976 ford 7600.What aftermarket engine kits have any of you used.any better or worse.how can you tell if the bearings are std or oversize not marked like IH bearings.any thoughts or bearing help would be greatly appreciated

The way I understand it the Ford engines of that vintage were assembled using a selection of red, blue or no color bearings of very slight difference in thickness to get the ideal tolerance. You have to look closely as the color dots are not very large and may be visible only on the edges. My 9000 at 10,000 hours had red mains and no color rods. Your shop manual will explain it in detail.

You determine the size of the bearings needed very carefully by measuring the crank journals with a calibrated micrometer. Under-sizes do not have the blue-red distinction. I don't believe the aftermarket offers the red or blue either in standard sizes.
