I'll recheck all fluids tomorrow morning, but the hyd level was the same when I shut it down.

Routing of the hydraulic tubes is not clear in my manuals. Why does the tube go through the trans? I've never had one of these apart.

It appears the hyd lift cover was replaced with a flat plate when the backhoe was installed. I will check to see if any hyd guts are left inside the case.

ford decided to run suction and pressure lines thru the trans.

now.. if yours is a hyd delete machine.. that simplifies things.

you should have told us these pertinant details up front instead of making us guess.

start over and give a full accounting of the issue

Save the scolding tone for your morning coffee crew. I don't know what's pertinent until you ask. That's why I'm here! :)

Everything's as I said above. Fluid coming out the shifter tube. Pressure builds in hyd and trans cases. Fluid levels topped off, with no apparent change, but I'll check again to be sure. No external hyd parts because of the backhoe. I'll see if there are internals.

Why would hydraulics be run through the tran case? Just to avoid ext piping? Odd...

"you should have told us these pertinant details up front instead of making us guess."

Come on SG, was this really necessary? My intention was obviously not to make you guess at anything. Not a game, just some friendly questions from someone trying to learn.

OK, you're upset at my joke, I get it. Some folks here are happy to toss it out but have pretty thin skins. Thanks for the prior assistance and best of luck to you.
