old style wheel center shim on 8000

on the old styled wheel center power shift style rim
on the 8000 how do you take off the rim? Do you
loosen the big jam nut on the shim?

Is that the style with jack screws (for lack of a better term) at each rail? If so, then yes, I think you loosten the nuts as far as you can, all the way around the rim.

Yea it has the jam nut nut on it to the rail the the shim is behind the center. It"s completely different then the new style with the cast shim block

Yep, best I remember, that"s what you do. Back each jack screw down as far as it"ll go, then the rim should be clear of them & come off. Did that nearly 20 yrs. ago when calcium rusted one out on my 8000.
