Rebuilt Engine Break-In Period

run it thru a bunch of different loads and rpm ranges, and if it was me.. I'd change the filter after 1hr of running.. then run her 10hrs and do an oil and fitler change.

remember to retorque the head after warming her.. check valves as well.

There are no hard and fast rules that I know of except that the most important thing is to run it at various loads, which you can't do just driving it around. Generally you do something like a half hour at 15% load then half hour at 30% then a half hour at 60%. This is all done on a dyno, which you probably don't have, but you could drag something around instead, at progressively higher loads and throttle settings.

Been slowly working up to that. Just needed some input into how long I should let things proceed before I make the swap.
It is nice to have no more smoke and snappy torque.

Agreed. After a brief run in, if you want to set the rings, gotta
work it. Also, for the initial run in, use cheap oil, You need
some wear to get things to settle in.

Then go for the Rotella T 5 w-40 and you will die before you
wear the engine out.

BTDT.....But ain't dead yet.
