FORD 1200 Broken Crankshaft

I am looking to purchase a Ford 1200 CUT. It has a broken cranshaft. Does anyone know why this is such a common problem with these little tractors? Is it because they were overloaded? Poor design, or problem with casting design

2 cylinders are just rough little engines... Probably in this case the materials were not up to the job expected of them. That tractor is not something you buy. It's something you think long and hard about before someone gives it to you...
Parts are either very expensive or non-existent in the NH system and hard to find used because of low production numbers.... and well... broken cranks.
