I need a distributor for a ‘55 Ford 600. I ordered one from Yesterday’s Tractor and after I had it in hand I realized it fits the ’58 and later tractors. The shaft is longer by roughly an 1/8 inch. I haven’t found anyone who sells a replacement for the FAA-12176-A distributor, or the parts to rebuild the original.
Can this be adapted for use in the early 600’s by simply shortening the oil pump drive shaft? Are there any other differences, aside from the cam weight assembly? |

| The distributor I pulled off the tractor has a metal label marked “FDN” & “5A3” riveted to it if that means anything. |

| It's a hex shaft to the oil pump on both. |

| Slotted shaft or hex shaft??? The CT supply has both listed and what you may have it a NAA distributor and or even an NAA tractor or a mutt that has the NAA engine instead of the 600 series engine |
