I have a ford 4000 it has a loader hooked up with the tractors hydraulics. It has power up and gravity down for the loader. It will not pickup anything. The bucket works great has power. Do you think the cylinders could be bad or what?

ok.. so bucked works.. but no arm lift.

reseat any hyd connectors.

next, swap hoses onthe remotes to use the bucket remote onthe lift arms and see what happens.

on a sa cyl, if you don't see a exterior leak.. it's not blown packing, like a DA cyl could be.

ps.. there are 63-64 4 cyl 4000's and 65-75 4000's. plenty of differences.. so best to say which it is in case it comes up as a hyd system issue

It is the 65-70 tractor. No external leak on cylinders. Just bought the tractor have not done anything to it yet. The bucket has plenty of power but not the loader part. It will not pick up a load of dirt or half a load. Thanks

if his bucket circuit is strong.. the lift circut should be AS strong.

he's indicated he has SA lift cyls ( no down pressure ).. so there's no possibility of a bypassing packing leak , if there's no external jet of fluid.

control circuit is what I'm thinking so far. perhaps a bad spool oring.. or if piloted spool.. bad pilot.
