One was for a 5.2 bore and the later were for a 5.4 bore. The smaller was for the earlier engine and the larger for the later one.   [Reply]  [No Email]

The most important thing is deck height, which is the amount the piston protrudes above the top of the block at TDC. Anything between 0 and .010" above will use a thin head gasket, and if you're between .010" and .023" above, you want the thick gasket. If your piston does not come up to the top of the block at TDC, you have bigger issues.   [Reply]  [No Email]
