I have a Ford 801 tractor with a light duty 5' grader blade that I use to plow snow off my 400' driveway. The medal blade leaves marks on my freshly sealed blacktop. Does anyone have a homemade solution to a rubber blade or a place that I can purcahse. Currently I'm using rubber belt from a round hay baler with large C claims.
Hope someone has a better ideal or place to purchase.

Thanks

How about a strip of heavy truck tire tread cut off a tire and bolted on?

I used a 2x10x6 ft. piece of wood and bolted it to my existing holes on my Woods blade.

Why not use what you have and just bolt it on with the cutting edge?

Might have to change to longer bolts and buy washers.

Horse stall mat doesn't have any reinforcement, so it will break off especially in cold weather. I tried some as a shield on my shredder.........lasted about 5 minutes.

Since I don't what snow is, I'm guessing PVC is the way to go.

you must have bought the hors stall matting that loked like black trash bag material.

i have som matting that is 10ys old as shields.. it actually is holding up better than truck mud flap, that I am also using.

what hold sup a lil better is conveyor belting.

PS.. the horse matting I use has cords in it.. you must be seeing that 'crumb' matt that is about 1/4" thick and just formed from composite rubber crumbs... I wouldn't line a ..well.. horse stall with that stuff.. :)

I use the thick extruded looking matting.. has bias cords in it like an old tire.

hard to cut.. I'd used a saw to cut up mine.

i really think we are talking about different products.

I have heard of using a piece of PVC pipe with a slit cut in it to fit the blade. If you use the right size it will go right on and sit there.

I don't know about PVC pipe, but know steel pipe works and the blade will NOT cut into your lawn either. A brother has it on a 10 ft snowplow and he used a 3" diameter pipe and he said it will not ride up over the snow.
