Not at home so not 100% certain, but believe that "left" and "right" are reversed.

If this was supposed to follow NWMO, he's got it correct . . . provided there is a left and right to that filter. I think it's more like a lower and an upper end.

Hey fellas,

I was just going from memory, a little over 5 yrs ago I believe. I don't know that mine is identical (may be), but here is a pic of a 2000 SOS that shows the filter as I remember it, or nearly so. Good pic of the lubrication sending unit at the far right as well.

(quoted from post at 17:28:43 12/26/12) Where is the oil drain on fill plugs for these?

Hey Rod,

Always good to start a new topic when changing directions. At any rate, if an early unit, the drain/screen filter should be just below the left foot rest, near the bottom. The drain location has a 1/4" - 20 thread in it that you can run a bolt in to make it easier to remove. There is also a "keeper" over the drain location that needs rotated out of the way. The fill port is on the right side near the same height or above the step. Should have a 4 sided plug in it, many of us add a "street" 90 that threads into the plug location, allowing easier fill and even adding a little extra fluid is a bonus.
