I"m about to replace a leaking fuel shut off valve on my 641, any advivce, suggestions or things to be aware of ? Thanks ESKAY

Be sure to buy a good one not one of the many China junk ones that are sold now days. Be ready to pay a good price for one if you want it to work as it should and last a few years

Depending on what's wrong it might be best to repair the valve you have, if it's the screw-type. This has been discussed on this forum in detail, but it involves replacing the o-ring inside (and the one sealing the valve to the tank). Once you have the valve out, you can carefully chisel off the rivet which allows you to remove the stem and o-ring. Replace the o-ring, then replace the rivet with a self-tapping screw of just the right length to prevent the stem from coming out. A little tricky but definately do-able. -Will

I'll second the repair option. VERY easy to do. I drilled my rivet out and tapped it for a machine screw instead of using self tapper. Same result though. If it ever starts to leak again, no need to remove valve from tank. Just use a 90° screwdriver, remove the screw, replace the "O"ring and reinstall in reverse order. As mentioned above, the new imports are junk and will have to be replaced almost annually like clockwork.

Thank you to all who repsonded, I will take your advice and repair the old one. Thanks again and Merry Christmas to all
