NAA running board w/ tool box

I just got a NAA that has a running board on the left with a tool box built into it, or under it I should say. Not too big but handy.

It's a bit rusted out, were these original or were they home made?

Any idea on where to find one?

Thanks

Original equipment. My 871 has a similar style toolbox built into the floorboard,

Did you check this sites sponsor (yesterday's tractor) or if not I think Dennis Carpenter has them.

If just rusted through in spots and the basic form is there, it's pretty easy to repair them with fiberglass and two part epoxy. I just renewed a second one,(on a MF65), fender box, had repaired one on my 53 Jubilee. I cutaway the rusted edges, sanded down to shiny metal, clean with MEK and formed a layer of 6oz FG cloth on inside and one layer on outside. Smoothed it down, drilled a couple small weep holes and painted. Won't rust and is at least as strong as metal and away cheaper.

The running board is simple to bend up in sheet metal if you have the equipment. It used to be that these were pure unobtainium. Now they are available a number of places. Google Ford Jubilee Tool Box.

YT did not seem to have these tool boxes but I found them at Walt's Tractor and Steiner. They had both the replacement running board or a weld in tool box.

I have an Autocad drawing that I used to fabricate a replacement in stainless steel. I would be happy to send it to you if you wish. Send me an email (cliff at cantrellhome dot com) if you are interested.

Back in 2010, I repaired my tool box. Doesn't look like much. Lot of spot welds. If I had it to do over, I would have made it much deeper.
