Yeah, that's the one I mentioned the other day. Pretty nice looking for a 45 year old tractor. Complete with a series 10 front weight bracket. :)

Chris,

It's not that far from you should be a weekend trip.We consider VA. almost in the south.

You sure?
I know you'd really like a 3 cyl gasser.
And you've been flirting around with buying a jerk o matic for a while.
This would be a great candidate to kill two birds with one stone.

don't think it isn't tempting... if a similar one popped for sale a lil farther south.. it might follow me home..

for instance.. a gasser 5000 NF.. I might have to drive for that one.. :)

Hey Chris, don't forget that those row crop 4000s and 5000s can be easily converted from wide to narrow.

is it as simple as a pedistal change?

are the pedistals the same among them?

the NF later models are just so rare around here.. never see them.. an odd 6000 now and then.. etc..

I believe it is that simple. The 4200 has it's own wide front axle, but the 5200 and 7200 (and '76 66/7600 RC's) share the same wide axles. Don't know without checking p/n's, but I -think- they all use the same NF pedistal. May even be the same as the prior RC's.
Any time you get a '65-up RC, it will be a flat deck.

Hello Chris , I used to know where there was TWO single wheel fronts for the 5000 , if you are interested I can check to see if they are still there then you would not be limited to just a narrow front , you could grab a wide front and convert it yourself . Thanks Tony

Knowing that you are not a purist, a Farmall pedistal nearly bolts right up.

if you have the # laying around I'd surely take it.

5200 are somewhat common here. I know where 2 flat platfrom are right now.. wide front of course..

Hello Chris , I will call him and see if he still has them as I need to speak with him about some other parts , if he does I will get his number to you and you guys can deal direct . Thanks Tony

Hello Chris , Both Single front / Narrow front have been sold . I asked him to let me know if he locates anything else in either single or double narrow for the 5000 , 7000 , 8000 tractors . Thanks Tony

They are easy to change yes, but you have to have the mounting plate to the pedestol before you can use the single front or tricycle front on the 5200 & they arn"t cheap to buy unless you get lucky, You can actullay have 4 different styles of fronts for the 5200, the single wheel, tricycle, wide front set out or wide front set back for closer turning radius, we"ve had our 5200 all 4 ways before but it"s currently "set back" wide front right now. There"s a old Ford dealer here in NC that has a brand new one for $1000 Zack

I was telling showcrop that they are easy to change but the 5200's require a bracket that bolts to the pedestol, then you can bolt up the single front or a tricycle front to the 5200, we have had our 5200 all 4 ways before single, tricycle, & wide front "set out" & wide front "set back" for shorter turning radius, the 4200's do not require the plate, the fronts you choose will bolt right up! Zack

Zack, I just checked out the CNH parts page and I see a spacer there, but I don't see a need for it. I just bolted the Farmall pedestal up to the plate on the bottom of the motor of my 9000. Perhaps the plate on the 5000 is recessed? in which case a spacer could be easily be made to afford the necessary clearance.
